Elegant springtime florals..

Well happy Friday everyone 😊 the weekend awaits and in my little part of the world the sun is shining 🌞🌞 although knowing the fickle British weather it could snow at any time πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
For my last card of the week I'm sharing an elegant card using the beautiful springtime floral papers and my new favoucolouring in tool Stampin' Blends.
The paper comes as a white background with metallic patterns printed on. The fab thing about that is you can colour it in many ways including my new fav!!!
Have a good weekend and please join us next week foe more inspiration
Have fun
Cary xx

Teenagers....

Most of us have a particular type of card we find hardest masculine, clean and simple, lots of layers..the list goes on! For me one of the hardest is a card for a Teenager! Well with the help of the sale-a-bration stamp set Epic day and the designer series paper Bubbles and Fizz I think I've made a card that pretty much any teen would be happy to receive 😊

A quick post of a quick and easy card today .the gems are Stampin' Up! Rhinestones that I've coloured using the fab new alcohol markers from Stampin' Up! Called Stampin Blends. They come in 14 fabulous colours in both a light and a dark shade making colouring effortless .but they are also great for other things such as colouring gems !

Sketches...

This week is all about using sketches and as we are coming to the end of sale-a-bration I thought I'd make good use of them too 😊
Today's card is bright and fun and oh so easy and quick to make just what I need on a dull and dreary Monday.

Grey - Gray

My last card this week is made in Basic Gray and Very Vanilla cardstock.
I used the lovely stamp set called You're Inspiring as I love the daffodils.

I stamped the daffodil image and the little splodges in Versamark then poured
 Silver embossing powder over.

Once heat set, I coloured in the flowers using the Watercolour Pencils. I've had so much fun with them and they're only £14.50 for 13 gorgeous colours.
A MUST buy as far as I'm concerned.

I find cutting around images very therapeutic, so this I did.
I added a few strips of the lovely Daffodil Delight Ribbon.

A couple of messages from the same stamp set which were also heat embossed.
The front phrase I used the NEW Tailored Tag punch but cut each of the 2 top layers down.
Please pop by next week to see how Cary will inspire you. I'm sure she has something lovely
up her sleeve for you.

Colours Grey

Colour Grey - Day 4

My grandchildren, Bella and Jayden gave me the inspiration for the card today.
It was my son's birthday last week and both of them made a card using the
Magical Day stamp set.
So, here is my version.

Using Whisper White as the card base and a Basic Gray mat inside, I made the scene below.
I've only used small amounts of grey on this card.
I used a piece of the gorgeous papers which coordinate with the stamp set called
Myths and Magic Speciality DSP. Simple designs on one side and glossy images
like the ones below on the other.
Yes, The Dragon is shiny! He's gorgeous, I love him!

I TORE PAPER!!!!! I NEVER do things like that usually. In fact I'm sure that Cary will laugh when she sees it! It just had to be done!
I wanted banners for the background so used the die from the Home Sweet Home Thinlits.

I gently watercoloured over the background with the Bermuda Bay pencil.

The messages were both stamped in Basic Gray and are from the Magical Day stamp set.

Colour Grey - Day 3

Today's card was made for my friends Dad! He likes pink!
So using Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Basic Gray cardstock, this card emerged.
I embossed the Pink mat using the Hexagons Dynamic TIEF.
I liked the de-bossed side for the front. The card was kept longer than needed
so once embossed, I folded the top 4 cm over and got the embossed side to show too.

I cut the Pink into 4 pieces 5 cm, 4 cm, 3 cm and 2 cm strips.
I then embossed the Happy from the Celebrations Duo TIEF's in the Smoky Slate cardstock.
I cut the letters out and stuck them onto the front as shown.

I used the Birthday from Big on Birthdays. To ensure I didn't ink the Happy too, I gently held the word back from the clear block and stamped it without inking it!
I was rather chuffed with that!

The car is from the Guy Greetings stamp set and was stamped onto Smoky Slate using
the same colour Ink.

Finished off by adding the sentiments inside, again from the Guy Greeting stamp set.
Apparently, my friend's dad loved his card.
There's not many men who would appreciate a pink card.
Thankfully, he's one of them!
Phew!!!

Weekly Inspiration - Grey

Colour Grey - Day 2

This little 12 cm by 12 cm card is a very simple one.
I embossed the Smoky Slate mat using one of the 2 different folders in Petal Pair TIEF's.

Using the flower from Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks and Soft Sky Ink, with a dauber I pushed the ink through the mask or template onto Whisper White cardstock.
Yes, once again, I fussy cut the flowers and and made the top ones smaller.

Stampin' Dimensionals to separate the layers gave me the lovely flower.

I added the messages from Birthday Blossoms stamp set.
Using a 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" circle punches for the messages and then rolled the outer circle over
the Soft Sky Ink pad.

I rather like the way the circles look when they're not symmetrical.
A few strips of Whisper White Sheer Ribbon to finish off the card.

Weekly Inspiration -

Colours - Greys

Hello again, firstly I must apologise for my absence the week before last.
Builders, family etc. etc. all got in the way! Unfortunately, I cannot access my pc when the builder is digging up the floor in my room! As a result, I was unable to do any card making and posting.
Cary made some amazing projects last week too. One day hopefully, she will teach me how to make the Lumiere!
This week I have had the pleasure of working with the colour Grey.
I have used both greys from Stampin' Up! Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.
This first card I heat embossed the floral background with Versamark and Clear embossing powder.
Then using a foam brayer, (very cheap, 4 sponges and 2 handles for only £7.25) I rolled Smoky Slate
Ink all ofer the flowers. Then buffed the excess off of the embossed areas with a tissue.

I used Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla cardstock for this and some of the gorgeous 1/8" Sheer Ribbon. The flowers were stamped in Calypso Coral and Old Olive Ink for the stalks.
They were then fussy cut.

The stamp set for this card is Beautiful Bouquet. 37 stamps for £24
That is an absolute bargain!

Where has the sunshine goneπŸ˜“

Today is the last day of my posting and as the sunshine has disappeared I thought I'd share a bright and zingy project. It also has it's own lighting so shines bright on dull days 😊
I've used the daffodils and stamped on vellum again but this time I've also stamped and embossed some separately.  I then fussy cut the flower heads out and coloured them in from the back in  with the dark daffodil delight blends  pen. I used fast fuse to adhere them on top of the flowers on the vellum panels of the lumiere.
Well that's it from me this week next week Gill will be sharing her inspiration for us all to enjoy. Have a good weekend and stay warm if you're in the chilly bits and or stay cool if it's warm where you are πŸ˜‰
Have fun
Cary 😊 x
